The inscription of Amr bin Badr on the hills of Sela' Mountain in Al-Madina. Reading and Türkish-English Translation: Müfid Yüksel

(Medine-i Münevvere (İstasyon Müzesindeki Fotoğrafından) أمسی و أصبح عمرو ابن بدر يتوب الی الله من كلّ ما يكره

Amr bin Bedr geceleyip sabahladı/gece-gündüz, kerih-çirkin görülen/hoş görülmeyen her şeyden Allah'a tevbe eder.

This inscription in Sela' Mountain doesn't belong to Caliphes Abubakr and Umar (R.A) . There are mistakes in the reading of the late Prof. Muhammad Hamidullah.

We corrected the reading of this inscription as in the follow

أمسی و أصبح عمرو ابن بدر يتوب الی الله من كلّ ما يكره

(Yesterday and evening) Amr ibn Badr became repentant to Allah from all that he hates.

Not:

Kitabe/yazıt, gerek Batılı araştırmacıların makalelerinde, gerek Merhum Muhammed Hamidullah'ın Eserlerinde gerekse Medine-i Münevvere Müzesindeki kaydında yanlış okunmuştur. Yazıttaki عمرو ابن بدر Amr İbn Bedr adı عمر و ابو بكر Ömer ve Ebubekir şeklinde yanlış okunup kaydedilmiştir. Burada düzeltilmiştir.

We corrected the reading of this inscription
